Me and my friend the Kerbau. This waterbuffalo came and stuck its head into my front door, totally unbidden. While I generally am a bit nervous of waterbuffalos (see my story about being chased by one), this one was great. She hung out for about an hour.

My bedroom in Lubuk Kambing.

My house-- the teachers residence in Lubuk Kambing. My room was the one in the middle.

Drawing at Bria's house: Just some of the kids in my front room in Lubuk Kambing.

FYI: The toilet in Lubuk Kambing.

What I was there to do: Neldy facilitating a meeting with the farmer's group in Lubuk Kambing.

The scenery in Sungai Telang. This hanging bridge was right outside the village, connecting it to the village across the river.

Fahilla (7) and Fadilli (4), the two awesome kids who I lived with in Sungai Telang. Fadilli was my constant swimming and goofing around buddy.

The shower, washing machine, and (for some) bathroom in Sungai Telang. The water, which came from from a few miles away in the Kerinci National Park, was crystal clear and beautiful.

Children playing badminton, as they do every evening, on the only road in Sungai Telang.
